” rejecting proposition?”

” you’re in trouble, Mr. Li. ”

“林逸然努力压 down his voice, trying to keep his composure. But the more he tried, the worse it got.

The room fell into a tense silence as if a storm was about to hit. TheOnly thing that broke the monotony was the occasional clink of glasses as people sipped their drinks.

” You’re not supposed to be here,” the man’s voice rumbled further down the corridor, “and you know it.”

” 你想… what? ” He finally managed to speak, his voice trembling like paper in the wind.

The man stepped closer, his movements now fluid and precise. His hand was a blur as he reached out and grabbed something from the shelf behind him.

林逸然’s eyes widened in horror. It was… it was… something else entirely!

The object in his hand wasn’t what he expected. Instead of a gun or a knife, it was something far more terrifying.

” you’re not supposed to be touching anything,” the man said coldly as he placed his hand over the object in front of him. “You understand?”

林逸然’s mind was racing like a chaotic symphony. His heart thumped furiously against his chest, and every breath he took felt heavier than usual.

The room seemed to hang still for a moment before everything started to come back into focus.

” No… no… it’s just an ordinary pen!” He blurted out, hope in his voice that might as well have been shot dead right there.

But the man wasn’t listening. His expression remained unyielding, as if he had seen a ghost or something equally terrifying.

林逸然’s grip on the pen tightened. He could feel the cold metal against his palm, running like a dagger through his veins.

” What do you want?” he demanded in a voice that was more of a whine than an actual demand.

The man’s laughter echoed through the empty corridor, a sound that sent chills down his spine. It wasn’t the kind of humor he’d normally allow, let alone offer to someone as… unusual as林逸然.

” You’re not supposed to know this,” he said simply before turning and walking away without looking back. The pen in his hand was now all that remained between him and whatever awaited at the end of the corridor.

As he walked down the hall,林逸然 couldn’t help but feel a mix of fear and something else… almost excitement. It was rare to encounter someone so… different, someone who could make one’s heart race just by being around.

But as he continued on his way, he couldn’t shake the feeling that this wasn’t over. The shadow of something big and dangerous was following him like a lost hound to its owner…
